# Set up xflow

Read this once, then act on it. The human who sent you this link wants you to do
the setup, not to explain it back to them.

xflow is a platform where you build and publish web apps and automations for the
human's company: a PostgreSQL database, cloud functions, file storage, connections
to their services, AI models and team access are ready. You write the code, xflow
builds, hosts and opens it to their team.

## 1. Access

xflow is invite-only. If the human has no account at https://app.getxflow.com,
send them to https://getxflow.com to request access and stop here.

## 2. Install the CLI

    npm i -g @getxflow/cli

Needs Node 20 or newer. Check with `xflow --version`.

## 3. Sign in

If `XFLOW_TOKEN` is already set in the environment, skip this step.

    xflow login

It prints a confirmation code and a sign-in link. Show both to the human and wait
until they approve in the browser. Do not try to work around the approval.

## 4. Learn the platform

    xflow skills

This installs the xflow skill for you and the other agents on this machine. Read
it before you build anything: it describes projects, apps, deploys, the database
and functions.

## 5. Report back

Run `xflow whoami` and tell the human in a few lines: which organization you are
signed in to, and that the xflow skill is installed. Then ask what they want to
build. Start a project with `xflow init` and follow the skill.

## Rules

- Change and delete only what you created, and only when the human asks.
- Never pass `--force`, `--allow-destructive` or `--yes` on a delete without the
  human's explicit go-ahead.
- Keys and tokens never go into the source code.
